Daniel Mahoney is an Assistant Vice President in George K. Baum & Company’s Texas Public Finance practice. Mr. Mahoney has extensive experience aiding in the execution and structuring of debt financings for an array of different clients. He has worked with a multitude of different issuers, including: state agencies (Texas Comptroller’s Office and the Veterans Land Board), counties (El Paso and Reeves), school districts (Tioga ISD, Desoto ISD and Itasca ISD), local governments, water and sewer authorities, and special purpose agencies. Mr. Mahoney has several years of quantitative and modeling experience as well as in depth knowledge of transaction management and execution. He utilizes his expertise to create solutions for both underwriting and financial advisory clients.
Prior to joining GKB, Mr. Mahoney was an analyst at Raymond James & Associates in the Mid-Atlantic Public Finance group. At Raymond James, Mr. Mahoney worked in a primarily analytical role, utilizing his extensive modeling skills to provide structuring solutions and analysis to the general practice. His time was spent working with a variety of issuers including state and local governments, water and sewer authorities, and higher education institutions. In addition to supporting the general Mid-Atlantic Public Finance Practice, Mr. Mahoney worked with the firm’s National Airport group where he provided support for both underwriting and advisory efforts.
Before joining Raymond James, Mr. Mahoney worked for Virginia Premier Health Plan as a business analyst. His role at the firm included analyzing big data and creating performance improvement metrics for the division using SQL and excel.
Mr. Mahoney graduated from the University of Richmond with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance. He holds Series 7, 50, 52, and 63 licenses.
