Marc Dispense is an Executive Vice President and Co-Head of Capital Markets at George K Baum & Company. He leads the underwriting, trading and sales teams working to put clients’ needs first when sourcing and allocating funds in the market. Mr. Dispense is proud to lead one of the most seasoned and professional sales teams in the industry, and an underwriting and trading team with abilities near the top of the market. GKB maintains trading and underwriting desks in Kansas City, MO, Denver, CO and Dallas, TX, and sales offices in the Denver, CO, Kansas City, MO, Dallas, TX, Philadelphia, PA, and Boston, MA, areas.
In addition to leading GKB’s Capital Markets team, Mr. Dispense has 12+ years of experience assisting municipal issuers from a variety of industries and regions as they access the market. Among the billions of bonds issued nationally by George K. Baum & Company, he takes pride in maintaining focus on the smallest of details and working to find the best possible market execution to benefit his clients. Mr. Dispense still maintains a passion for discovering new marketing processes and bond structures to satisfy investor needs and lowering issuer borrowing rates.
Prior to joining the GKB Underwriting and Syndication Desk in 2005, Mr. Dispense worked on the Secondary Trading Desk, beginning in April 2003. As a trader, he was responsible for secondary housing trades in addition to trading municipal bonds for the Northeast region.
Mr. Dispense earned his Masters of Business Administration from the University of Denver and his undergraduate degree from the University of Colorado with an emphasis in finance and marketing. He cherishes his time with his wife Nora and his three sons Luca, Matteo and Sebastian. When able he spends free moments skiing on sunny days and attempting to play golf. He is a member of the National Federation of Municipal Analysts and holds Series 7, 63 and 53 licenses.
