Kelly A. Murdock is a Senior Vice President in George K. Baum & Company’s Utah Municipal Finance group. Mr. Murdock has more than 25-years of municipal finance experience and possesses an extensive portfolio of a variety of municipal issuers in both the State of Utah and the Intermountain West.

During his career, Mr. Murdock has served as lead banker and municipal advisor to some of the largest issuers in the State of Utah, and has worked on more than $5 billion of tax-exempt, taxable and variable-rate municipal transactions for a variety of issuers. He has also served as underwriter or municipal advisor for several higher education institutions, including the University of Utah where he assisted the institution with the issuance of more than $1 billion in revenue bond offerings.

Prior to becoming an investment banker, Mr. Murdock served in several key staff positions on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., for both United States Senator Orrin G. Hatch and Congressman James V. Hansen. During his years in Washington, D.C., Mr. Murdock also worked as Director of the State of Utah’s Washington, D.C., office, serving as a member of the Utah Governor’s staff and as a key liaison between the State of Utah, the Utah Congressional Delegation and the federal government.

Mr. Murdock holds a Bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communications from the University of Utah and a Master of Business Administration degree from George Washington University.
