Mr. White is Governor Ritter’s appointee to the Colorado Clean Energy Development Authority (CEDA).  CEDA was established in 2007 to help facilitate the development of renewable energy and transmission projects.  CEDA has approached Congress to change the tax status of renewable energy transmission projects.  Currently, renewable energy transmission projects are not eligible for private activity tax-exempt bond status and CEDA has approached congress and asked them to change this.  Giving transmission projects tax-exempt status would significantly reduce the cost of capital for transmission projects.  To read the letter to Congresswoman DeGette and the proposed legislation, please click here.

Mr. White recently held a symposium on renewable energy and higher education.  More than 40 colleges and universities from around the country attended and learned about renewable energy, different ways to implement renewable energy on their campuses and how to finance renewable energy projects.  To view materials from the symposium, please click here.  Additionally, Mr. White co-authored an article for a February 2009 issue of National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) Magazine.  The article explains the renewable energy options available to colleges and universities and the ways in which colleges and universities are financing these options.  To read the article, please click here.

Lee White is a co-founder of the Renewable Energy Finance Coalition and a member of the Intermountain Harvesting Energy Network and Interwest Energy Alliance.  He has presented to the American Council on Renewable Energy (ACORE), Windustry and the Continuing Legal Education of Colorado at their Renewable Energy Conference.  Mr. White recently presented on the topic of financing renewable energy in today’s capital markets to more than 400 members of the Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES).  To view the CRES presentation, click here.
