Intermountain Power Agency (IPA)
Intermountain Power Agency (IPA) has been a financial advisory client of George K. Baum & Company’s for the past six years. During that time, Baum assisted in the sale of nearly $1 billion of bonds, including IPA’s first ever competitive sale—an issue extremely well received in the market.
City of Colorado Springs
George K. Baum & Company has served as financial advisor to the City of Colorado Springs on numerous transactions involving both utilities and transportation projects. Since 1994, we have served as financial advisor for six of the City’s financings totaling more than $358 million. Our involvement with these financings included the provision of a full range of financial advisory services, including structuring, assisting with the Preliminary Official Statements, presentations to Advisory Board and City Council, preparing and coordinating rating agency presentations, promoting the issues to bidders, assisting with all bond documents, including Notice of Sale, coordinating bid openings, analyzing bids received and coordinating closings.
Campbell County, Wyoming (Two-Elk Project)
George K. Baum & Company serves as sole managing underwriter for the first phase of this financing, Series 2000, $66.3 million Variable Rate Industrial Development Revenue bonds. In addition, we are the remarketing agent on $126 million Campbell County bonds for the Two Elk Project. The bonds are in escrow pending acquisition of contracts for the power. The Two Elk plant is a 310 megawatt waste coal-fired steam generation plant to be located near Wright, Wyoming.
Wyoming Municipal Power Agency
Representatives of George K. Baum & Company have provided underwriting services to the Wyoming Municipal Power Agency for the past twenty years. The Wyoming Municipal Power Agency is a joint powers board comprised of eight member municipalities. The Agency owns a share of the Missouri Basin Power Project in Wheatland, Wyoming and sells power and energy to its members under power supply contracts. The Agency has issued $56.38 million for acquisition of their share of the Power Project and to refund prior debt.
Laramie County, Wyoming (Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power)
George K. Baum & Company senior managed a $17 million variable rate financing for Laramie County in 1997 with the proceeds being loaned to Cheyenne Light Fuel & Power to finance the costs of electrical upgrades and gas distribution system improvements. George K. Baum & Company is the remarketing agent.
