Charles Youtz
Senior Vice President, Manager - California Public Finance
Charles Youtz has served with George K. Baum & Company for 15 years and is a
senior vice president and manager of the firms California public finance
office. Mr. Youtz has specialized in education finance since 1975. Issuers that
he has served have ranged from major universities to smaller school districts in
rural communities in California. He has played an integral role in the development
of many of the firms innovative financing structures and programs for education
issuers.
Prior to joining George K. Baum & Company, he was a municipal finance specialist
with Bosworth, Sullivan & Company, Inc. in Denver. From 1970 to 1975, he served
as deputy secretary of state and securities administrator for the State of Wyoming,
and assumed primary responsibility for the administration of the Uniform Securities
Act as it relates to the examination and registration of stock and bond issues.
Mr. Youtz has worked on financings utilizing certificates of participation, general
obligation bonds, lease purchase obligations, assessment district bonds, and transactions
involving unique asset sale concepts. He has played an important role in the development
of many of the firms innovative financing structures and programs.
Mr. Youtz is active in many bond industry and education-related associations, and is
a registered principal with the National Association of Securities Dealers and the New
York Stock Exchange.
