Stephen E. Shogren
Senior Vice President
Steve Shogren joined George K. Baum & Company's Kansas public finance group
in 2002 and is based in the firm's Wichita office. In previous positions
he was a senior vice president with Claymore Securities and the head of
public finance at Ranson & Associates, Inc., prior to its acquisition by
Claymore in the fall of 2001.
Mr. Shogren's professional focus is on districts and other issuers of
municipal bonds in the state of Kansas. He is one of the top investment
bankers in the state, providing advice and underwriting services on $1.5
billion in bonds for capital improvements in the last decade and
helping more than 100 Kansas school districts stage successful bond
elections. In 1999, Mr. Shogren was co-financial advisor to Wichita
Unified School District No. 259 on a $284.5 million bond issue, the
largest such financing ever completed in the state of Kansas.
Mr. Shogren is a native Kansan and graduated from Wichita State
University in 1973. His is an NASD General Securities Representative
and General Principal.
