Alan Matlosz is senior vice president in the public finance division
of George K. Baum & Company. He is responsible for providing comprehensive
investment banking services to a variety of local governments throughout
Colorado. Mr. Matlosz has worked in the public finance profession since 1992
after six years of experience in state and local government. Since 1992, he
has worked with a wide variety of counties, municipalities and special
districts and has financed over 150 projects in Colorado.
During his government service, he worked for Adams County coordinating
land use planning efforts around Denver International Airport and also
represented the county on a number of boards. As Adams County's
representative, he served as chairman of the Denver Regional Council
of Government's Water Resources Planning Advisory Committee. He also
worked for the Colorado Department of Local Affairs as Finance
Specialist providing technical assistance in the areas of budgeting,
investing, and capital financing to hundreds of municipalities, counties
and special districts. Mr. Matlosz has developed several specialties
including the financing of water and wastewater projects, tax-exempt
lease-purchase financing, and the structuring of complex refunding
bond issues. Mr. Matlosz holds a bachelor's degree in economics and
rhetoric from the University of Massachusetts, a master's degree in
city planning from Cornell University, and a master's degree in finance
from the University of Colorado.
