Bret Jones
Senior Vice President
Bret Jones is a senior vice-president in George K. Baum’s Wyoming public finance operation. He joined the firm in 2008 following a twenty-one year career as a local government professional, most recently as City Administrator in Gillette, Wyoming. During his local government career, Mr. Jones served as chief administrative officer in four different municipalities, working with governing bodies in the development of policy initiatives and with responsibility for the oversight of daily operations for general government and utility functions.
Mr. Jones has extensive experience in a wide variety of local government initiatives, including strategic planning, long-term capital planning and prioritization, major capital project financing and oversight and utility rate review and restructuring. During his local government career, Mr. Jones was involved in the development of financing packages for major capital projects utilizing a variety of funding sources, including revenue bonds, lease financing, state revolving fund loans and grants.
Mr. Jones, a native of Huron, South Dakota, holds a masters degree in public administration and a bachelors degree in political science, both from the University of South Dakota.
