Richard Bartow
Senior Vice President
Dick Bartow entered the municipal finance arena in 1990 following a
distinguished 14-year career serving school districts across Missouri
as a teacher, a basketball coach and a superintendent. The districts
he served as superintendent are the Walker R-IV School District, the
Sparta R-III School District and the Ozark R-VI School District. As
a teacher and basketball coach, he worked for the Odessa, Versailles
and Grandview school districts.
In 1996, Mr. Bartow joined George K. Baum & Company's municipal
finance division. During his 15-year investment banking career, he
has structured hundreds of lease purchase and general obligation
bond issues throughout Missouri totaling more than $1 billion. Mr.
Bartow has helped numerous clients assess their capital needs and
develop financing plans designed to satisfy those needs. He has
considerable experience solving short-term cash flow concerns. For
the past 10 years, he has served as program administrator for the
Missouri School District Advance Funding Note Program, helping Missouri
school districts raise more than $1 billion for short-term cash flow needs.
Mr. Bartow received both his bachelor's degree in education and his
subsequent master's degree from Central Missouri State University. His
education specialist degree was awarded by the University of Missouri-Kansas
City in 1982.
