John Archuleta
Senior Vice President, Albuquerque
John Archuleta is a senior vice president with George K. Baum & Company. He is responsible
for financial advisory and underwriting services for educational institutions, municipal and
county general obligation bonds and structured revenue debt issues in New Mexico. Mr. Archuleta
has been involved in public finance in New Mexico since 1973.
In the last five years, he has structured and managed more than $2 billion of municipal obligations
for a variety of issuers throughout the state of New Mexico. Mr. Archuleta has extensive experience
in school district general obligation bond issues, having served as financial advisor for districts
and underwriter for institutions of higher learning, issuing over $659 million since 1993. He
has specialized in New Mexico financing and has performed underwriting and/or financial advisory
services for cities, counties, school districts, state universities, special authorities, and
the State of New Mexico.
Additionally, Mr. Archuleta has extensive experience in legislative matters and was instrumental
in the drafting and passage of legislation affecting county financing whereby counties were
allowed to issue revenue bonds. He continues to work closely with the legislature.
Mr. Archuleta holds a B.A. in business administration from New Mexico State University. He is
a Registered Representative and Principal of the New York Stock Exchange, and a registered
representative of the National Association of Securities Dealers and the Municipal Securities
Rulemaking Board.
