Roger Edgar is an Executive Vice President in the Kansas/Missouri Public Finance practice. He is among the nation’s most experienced advisors and underwriters of municipal bonds.
During his 34 years with George K. Baum & Company, Mr. Edgar has participated in almost every type of public finance transaction, including:

Mr. Edgar has developed a strong working knowledge of state law and federal tax code relating to the issuance of tax-exempt bonds. Among his accomplishments are completing the long-term, fixed-rate financing for the redevelopment of Kansas City’s Union Station and serving as senior manager for the expansion to Kansas City’s Nelson Atkins Museum of Art. He is frequently involved in unusual or complex credit transactions. In addition, Mr. Edgar has many ongoing client relationships with municipal borrowers that exceed 30 years in duration.
Mr. Edgar holds a Master of Public Administration from the University of Missouri. He is also a member of various professional and economic development groups, including the Kansas and Missouri chapters of the Government Finance Officers Association, various chambers of commerce and several state associations. Mr. Edgar has served on the Municipal Executive Committee of the Securities Industry Financial Management Association (SIFMA) and has served as chairman of the Johnson County, KS, Library Board. He is also a charter member of several community organizations and foundations.
