Chad Christoff is a First Vice President in George K. Baum & Company’s Higher Education & Nonprofit Finance practice. Mr. Christoff is involved in the transaction execution and quantitative structuring of tax-exempt debt financings for colleges and universities, independent schools, and other nonprofit entities. He has structured numerous fixed-rate and variable-rate financings in both bank direct purchase and public issuance financing structures.
Mr. Christoff has provided analytical support and transaction management for a wide variety of recent higher education institutions, ranging from “AAA” rated institutions, such as Grinnell College (IA), to sub-investment grade transactions for institutions, such as Roseman University of Health Sciences (NV and UT). Mr. Christoff has experience with both public and private colleges and universities, having completed multiple transactions on behalf of the University of San Diego (four issues) and the University of Wyoming (three issues). In addition, he has focused his efforts on Iowa higher education institutions, having closed tax-exempt financing transactions for Grinnell College, Buena Vista University, Central College and Morningside College (three issues).
His responsibilities include the preparation of debt service schedules and other financial analysis for both new money projects and refinancings, assisting borrowers in evaluating financing options in both the bank and public capital markets, preparing borrowers for meetings with the rating agencies, and assisting borrowers in the review and understanding of financing documents.
Mr. Christoff has presented at several industry seminars and conferences, including the Iowa Higher Education Loan Authority Annual CFO Conference, the Colorado Association of Independent Schools Annual Conference, and the Louisiana Association of Independent School Annual Conference. Mr. Christoff holds a BA in Economics from Grinnell College and is a native of Donahue, IA.
